How to Connect PS3 to PC Wireless

The Sony PlayStation 3 has a number of media capabilities beyond just playing video games and Blu-ray discs. You can connect your PS3 to a PC via a wireless connection to play music and movies and view photos. The PS3 comes standard with a built in Wi-Fi adapter, so it̵7;s a breeze to connect it to your wireless network. Just follow these steps to configure your wireless connection.

      Turn on your PS3.

      Go to the ̶0;Settings̶1; tab in the Cross Media Bar.

      Select ̶0;PlayStation Network Settings̶1; under the ̶0;Network Settings̶1; option.

      Configure your connection. Select ̶0;Wireless̶1; when prompted for your connection type and select ̶0;Easy.̶1; Search for SSID̵7;s and select your networks SSID, which is your networks broadcast name. Input your password. Run the connection test to finish the setup.

      Enable sharing on your PC. Open Windows Media Player, select ̶0;Tools̶1; from the tool bar and click ̶0;Options.̶1; Select the ̶0;Library̶1; tab and click ̶0;Configure Sharing.̶1; Check the ̶0;Share my media to̶1; check box to enable sharing. Right-click on your PS3 in the device list, which will be listed as ̶0;PS3̶1; or ̶0;Unknown Device̶1; and select ̶0;Allow.̶1;

      Go to either the ̶0;Movies,̶1; ̶0;Music̶1; or ̶0;Photo̶1; tab in your PS3̵7;s Cross Media Bar, and you will find your computer listed. From those menus, you can watch movies, listen to music, or view photos wirelessly from your PC.
