Things You'll Need
Instructions
Get all components ready. Make sure the PlayStation 3 is configured for network access and that your computer is on the same network as the PS3. Now run Windows Media Player 11.
Click the "Library" button at the top of your screen. Then, when it appears, select the "Media Sharing" option.
Find the "Share My Media" option and make sure it is checked. This will allow your media folders to be used by other computers or, in this case, the PS3.
Turn on your PS3. When it has loaded, go to either the "Music," "Video" or "Picture" menus and select the "Scan for Media" option.
Return to the PC. You should receive a pop-up notification stating that an unknown device is attempting to connect to your computer. This is the PlayStation 3.
Allow the unknown device to connect to your computer. Your PS3 will now be able to access the media in your shared folders.
