Ensure the wireless connection in your home is on and working properly. You can test it on a PC that is connected wirelessly by simply seeing if the Internet browser opens a webpage.
Boot up the PS3.
On the options screen at boot-up, go to "Settings."
Scroll down and select "Network Settings."
Open "Internet Connection" and select to "Enable" it. This turns on the Internet on your PS3.
Select ̶0;Internet Connection Settings̶1; in ̶0;Network Settings.̶1; This will start the connection process.
Choose ̶0;Easy̶1; for the method of connection and press ̶0;right̶1; on the D-Pad controller. The D-Pad is the up-down-left-right buttons on the left of the controller.
Select ̶0;Wireless̶1; and continue by pressing ̶0;right̶1; on the D-Pad.
Set the system to ̶0;Automatically̶1; find a connection and then choose a network. If you are using a security-enabled network select ̶0;Manually̶1; instead. You will be prompted to enter the network name (SSID), the type of security (WEP, WPA or none) and the security key of the network.
Review the connection status and hit the ̶0;X̶1; button to finish.
Select ̶0;Internet Connection Test̶1; in ̶0;Network Settings̶1; to make sure the Internet on your PS3 is working properly.
