How to Play Games on Remote Play for PS3

Remote Play is a feature exclusive to certain Sony products such as the PSP and PlayStation 3. It allows you to connect to other Remote Play enabled devices wirelessly. Remote Play lets you view movies and listen to music, and--using a connected PS3 and PSP system--you can even play certain games. Setting up Remote Play so you can play games from your PS3 on your PSP is easy to do, but it will take several minutes of your time.

Things You'll Need

  • PlayStation Portable (PSP)
  • PS3/PSP USB cable

Instructions

    • 1

Plug the large end of the PS3/PSP USB cable into one of the PS3's USB ports. The smaller end connects to the mini-USB port on the top of the PSP console, similar to how it connects to your PS3 controller.

    • 2

Power on your PlayStation 3 and PSP.

    • 3

Scroll to Settings on the PSP's home menu and highlight "USB Connection." Press "X" to select the option to put the PSP into USB Mode.

    • 4

Scroll to Settings menu on your PlayStation 3's home menu and select "Remote Play Settings." Choose "Register Device" and follow the on-screen instructions to register your PSP console to your PS3 for Remote Play.

    • 5

Connect your PSP to your PS3 using Remote Play and wait for the PS3 home menu to appear on the PSP's screen.

    • 6

Select the game you want to play on the Game menu. If the game is compatible with Remote Play, you can now play it using your PSP when connected to your PS3.
