Instructions
Download and install an online media server to your computer. One free server is Vuze, which can be used to store and play music as well as other media files, including video.
Launch the media server on your computer. Click the button labeled ̶0;Turn On̶1; next to the ̶0;Devices̶1; menu on the left side of the screen. Notice there is a gray PS3 icon.
Power on your PlayStation 3. Scroll to the left on your cross media bar until you reach the ̶0;Settings̶1; heading. Scroll down to ̶0;Network Settings̶1; and press ̶0;X.̶1; Choose ̶0;Media Server Connection̶1; and confirm the connection is listed as ̶0;Enabled.̶1; Press ̶0;Circle̶1; to return to the cross media bar.
Navigate using your PS3 controller until you have highlighted ̶0;Music̶1; on the cross media bar. Scroll down to ̶0;Search for Media Servers̶1; and press ̶0;X.̶1;
Select ̶0;Vuze on XXX̶1; from the list of media servers that appear and press ̶0;X.̶1; The ̶0;XXX̶1; will appear as your computer name, such as ̶0;John-PC.̶1;
Go back to the Vuze software running on your computer. The gray PS3 icon will now be red.
Add the music to your media server by dragging the music files from their location on your computer and dropping them on the red PS3 icon. They will automatically be converted to run on the PlayStation 3.
Select the ̶0;Vuze̶1; icon that is now under the ̶0;Music̶1; heading of your PlayStation 3. A list of all songs added to media server will be available.
Highlight the song or album you wish to download onto your PS3 and press ̶0;Triangle.̶1; Select ̶0;Copy̶1; from the options that appear. Your songs will transfer to your PS3 hard drive.
Select any downloaded songs from the ̶0;Music̶1; menu and play them by pressing ̶0;X.̶1;
