How to Purchase a PS3 Extended Warranty

The PlayStation 3 comes with a one-year warranty from Sony when it is purchased new from a retailer. However, most users will have the console for longer than that and might wish to purchase an extended warranty to protect against repair expenses in the event of a hardware or software failure. Keep in mind that an extended warranty can only be purchased within the first 6 months after you purchase your PS3. An extended warranty will run concurrently with the one-year limited warranty that comes with all consoles.

Place of purchase information
Purchase date information
Sony Style Account information (optional)

Instructions

  Open Sony Style's "PS3 Service Plans" website. A link can be found in the "Resources" section.

  Select the gray "Pricing" tab in the center of the page.

  Choose the service plan you wish to purchase. Note that the only service plans available for the PS3 are the "2 Year Service Plan", the "3 Year Service Plan" and the "4 Year Service Plan".

  Click the "Add to Cart" link next to your chosen service plan.

  Select "PlayStation System" from the "Product Category" drop-down menu, then fill in the required purchase information in the pop-up window. Click "Continue."

  Click the orange "Checkout" button on the right hand side of the screen.

  If you don't already have a Sony Style account, fill in the information under the "I do not have a Sony Style Account" section; if you do, fill in your information under the "I Have a Sony Style Account" section.

  Enter your shipping address and payment information, then click the orange "Review Order" button on the right side of the page.

  Review all of the information for accuracy, then click the orange "Place Order" button on the right side of the page.
