How to Put Thumb Drives in a PS3

Using Digital Files From the Thumb Drive

  Turn on the PS3. Insert the plug of the USB thumb drive into one of the USB slot's at the front of the PS3.

  Wait for the Home menu to appear. Go to the Photos, Music or Video tab in the Home menu. Select the icon of the USB thumb drive.

  Press the "Triangle" button on the PS3's controller and select "Display All" to view the digital files on the USB thumb drive.

  Select a digital file and press "X" on the PS3's controller to view the photo or listen to music or watch a video from the USB thumb drive.

  Turn off the PS3 when done. Remove the USB thumb drive from the PS3's USB slot.

Transferring Digital Files From the USB Thumb Drive to the PS3̵7;s Hard Drive

  Turn on the PS3 and wait for the Home menu to appear. Insert the plug of the USB thumb drive into one of the USB slot's at the front of the PS3.

  Go to the Photos, Music or Video tab in the Home menu. Select the icon of the USB thumb drive and press the "Triangle" button on the PS3's controller. Select "Display All" to view the digital files on the USB thumb drive.

  Select a digital file and press the "Triangle" button on the PS3's controller. Select "Copy" from the menu choices and press the "X" button on the PS3's controller. Press the "X" button again when prompted. Wait as the digital file is copied to the PS3's hard drive.

  Return to the Home menu. Go to the Photos, Music or Video tab in the Home menu. Press the "Triangle" button on the PS3's controller and select "Display All" to see those digital files that has been transferred from the USB thumb drive onto the PS3̵7;s hard drive.

  Select a digital file and click the "X" button on the PS3's controller to view a photo or listen to music or watch a video. Turn off the PS3 when done. Remove the USB thumb drive from the PS3's USB slot.
