Connecting Your PS3 Systems to a Wireless Network
Confirm that your wireless network is active and that all settings are correct. Ensure that any additional networking gear, such as hubs, routers and signal extenders are appropriately connected and functioning.
Power on your PlayStation 3 systems. On the PlayStation 3 main menu, Select "Settings", then "Network Settings". On the following menu select "Internet Connection Settings" , then "Yes" when you are asked if you want to disconnect from the Internet.
Select "Easy" under the connection settings menu, then select "Wireless Connection". Choose "Scan" when the next dialog box appears. This will initiate an automatic scan for any wireless connections in the area.
Select your wireless network from the displayed list of available connections. You should see the assigned name of your wireless network under the tab "SSID". If you are using any form of wireless encryption, select the appropriate security settings on the "Security" menu. If you are using an unencrypted network, select "None".
Save your settings. Test the connection by selecting "Test Connection". The system will automatically attempt to connect to the Internet and will display any pertinent diagnostic information if the attempt fails. If the connection test succeeds, your PS3 will now be able to access the Internet.
