Things You'll Need
Instructions
Place your console within range of your wireless router. You will establish a stronger connection by placing the PS3 close to the router. A stronger connection reduces lagging during gameplay.
Turn on your PS3 and scroll to the "Settings" tab on the Xross Media Bar. Scroll down through the settings menu until you locate "Network Setting." Hit "X" to open this menu.
Use the directional pad to select "Internet Connection Settings" and "X" to launch the wizard.
Select "Easy" from the setup options and then choose "Wireless" to configure your wireless connection.
Highlight and select the "Scan" option to begin detecting your wireless signal. From the search results, highlight and select your connection and hit "X."
Select which type of encryption you wish to use, then press the right arrow to advance to the next screen. If you have a encryption key or password, enter it and press "X" to continue. If you do not have a password, simply hit "X" to skip this screen.
Highlight "Test Connection," and hit "X" to finalize the setup process. In the future, your PS3 will automatically re-establish this connection every time it boots up.
