How to Install a PES 2008 Option File

Option files enable users to modify the contents of PES 2008. Because of this, there are communities dedicated to distributing and sharing various option files which feature user-made enhancements and game updates not found in the official retail version of the game. If you want to install custom Option Files into your console version of PES 2008, you need the help of Max Drive. While this How-to applies specifically to the PlayStation 2 version, the process is similar on other consoles with Max Drive available.

Using Max Drive to Install the Option File

  Download the Option File of your choosing and place it on the desktop.

  Connect and install (if you haven't done so already) the Max Drive to your computer. Wait for it to be detected.

  Right-click the Option File, select "Send To" and select "Max Drive". By default, Max Drive is the F drive.

  Disconnect the Max Drive from your computer. Plug it into your PS2's USB port.

  Launch Max Drive in the PS2. Use the PlayStation browser to verify that your Option File is indeed in Max Drive.

  Insert a memory card into the PS2. Make sure that it has enough space to hold the Option File you want to install.

  Highlight the Option File and select "Uncrush to memory card". Start PES 2008 like normal. Your Option File is now readily accessible.
