How to Delete History on a Playstation 3

When you browse the Internet on a Playstation 3, the links of the websites that you visit are kept in the browser's address bar and history. When you begin to enter a web address, links matching what you are typing begin to appear in the drop down menu. For privacy reasons you may want to clear the browsing history, which can be done on a regular basis.

Instructions

  Remove any disc from the Playstation 3 and restart the device. This will bring up the main Browser Menu for the Playstation's software. Press and hold the "triangle" button on the controller and an Options menu will appear on the right hand side of the screen.

  Scroll down to "History" under the Options list and click the "X" button to see a list of all the websites that you have viewed recently. Press the "triangle" button again while in the "History" window and a "Delete All" message will appear at the top of the window.

  Press the "X" button on the controller. A confirmation screen will appear asking if you are sure that you want to delete all History. Scroll to "Yes" and press the "X" button. The History will be cleared after selecting "Yes."

  Go back to the main menu that appeared when you started the Playstation 3. You may have to restart to get back to the main menu. Scroll down to "Settings" in the main menu, press "X" and scroll down to "System Settings".

  Click on "System Settings" and scroll down to "Delete predictive text dictionary". Press "X" when it is selected. To confirm this deletion press "X" again. This will clear any predictive text that appears next to the on screen keyboard as you enter text into a search bar or address bar. Clearing this will add an extra level of privacy when entering in text into the browser or search bar on the Playstation 3.
