How to Use the Guncon 3

Though light guns have been standard video game accessories for years, critics hailed Namco's original Guncon as a revolutionary step forward in the technology. The Guncon used a computer chip in the muzzle lens to analyze the screen and give players unprecedented accuracy. The Guncon 3, released in 2007, continues the tradition of technological innovation by incorporating LED sensors to track the Guncon's movement and ensure a high degree of accuracy. Setting up the Guncon 3 takes only a few minutes.

Instructions

Setting Up The GunCon 3

  Drape the LED sensors over the top of your TV so the sensors are facing you and the rubber weights are draped over the back of the TV. Adjust the length of the silicon straps so the sensors do not block your screen.

  Position the sensors so one touches the upper left corner of your screen and one touches the upper right corner.

  Locate the small knot in the cord that connects the sensors. Make sure the knot rests in the horizontal mid-point of your TV, above your screen.

  Plug the LED sensors into a USB port on your PS3.

  Plug the Guncon 3 into a USB port on your PS3.

  Insert a Guncon 3-compatible game into your PS3. Follow the on-screen instructions to calibrate your Guncon 3.

  Use the Guncon's analog sticks to navigate the game menu or move your game character. Press the buttons below the analog sticks to make menu selections or perform actions within the game. Pull the trigger to fire your character's weapon.
