Fixing Scratched Playstation CDs
Place your Playstation CD on a soft cloth. This will keep your surface from getting messy. Lay the disk flat with the scratched surface facing upward.
Rub toothpaste (any kind) all over the scratched surface in small circles with your fingers. If you choose to use the plastic polish system (see Resources), you will have three different solutions. Sart with Novus number three polish. Rub the number three polish in circles with your fingers all over your scratched surface. Then wipe off all of the number three polish with a micro-fiber cloth. Apply polish number two in the same manner. Wipe off number two with the micro-fiber cloth. Apply number one in the same way.
Rinse the toothpaste off. Hold the CD over a sink of running water and rub the toothpaste off with your fingers. With the plastic polish system, you do not need to rinse (no water necessary for this method). Simply wipe the number one Novus polish off the disk with a new micro-fiber cloth until all of the polish solution is off (again no water necessary). The polish method is done.
Dry the disk that you applied the toothpaste on with a soft towel such as a micro-fiber cloth after you have rinsed it. These types of towels are available at auto parts stores, which are nonabrasive and lint-free.
Repeat either process as necessary to work out all of the scratches.
