Instructions

Download an emulator. An emulator is a software program that will act as the original Playstation through your computer. The best one to download is the ePSXe. This can be done for free from their official website. Your computer must meet the specific operating requirements to run this software properly. The site will give you details on exactly what you need. Download this file into its own folder.

Get a PSX Bios file, either a scph1001.bin or a scph7502 depending on where you live. These can only be legally obtained by owning an original Playstation, but any search engine will be able to show you where you can download this file. When you start the download, save it to the ePSXe file you saved.

Download a graphics plugin. The official ePSXe site will give a great website to go to in order to get one. Pete's plugin is highly suggested. You must download one of these in order to play your Playstation games on your PC. Make sure you save this file to the same file you picked for the emulator.

Download another sound plugin if you have problems with the sound plugin automatically given in the ePSXe package you downloaded. If you choose to download a separate sound plugin, save it to the same file as the previous steps.

    • 5

Make sure you have extracted all the files. If you need to download some software to do this, try 7-zip software that you can download for free. Even if you don't need it, you still might want to download it, just in case.

Try running your emulator. Go through the wizard setup when prompted. After you are finished, put in one of your Playstation games and click File, then Run CD ROM. You should now be playing your game.
