How to Run ePSXe With GameShark

ePSXe allows you to emulate PlayStation games on your computer. If you have the emulator and game disc, you can play the game on your computer. Another feature of the ePSXe emulator is GameShark cheat support used to tweak the game's settings to your liking. However, in order to run GameShark codes in a PlayStation game, you'll need a plugin.

Things You'll Need

  • Computer with ePSXe 1.7
  • PlayStation game

Instructions

    • 1

Navigate your Web browser to "http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php." Click "PSX" and click "PlayStation Plugins and Utilities" on the right side of the screen. Download the file called "PEC Plugin 2.5."

    • 2

Run and install this file. The main PEC utility can go wherever you want. The "gnupec.dll" file, however, needs to go to the "plugins" directory of your emulator. Make your way through the rest of the wizard.

    • 3

Open your emulator, click "Config" and set the video plugin to "gnupec.dll."

    • 4

Close the emulator and open the PEC utility. Insert a PlayStation game disc into your computer's optical drive.

    • 5

Click the button next to "Jump to Game in Drive" to automatically go to the game you just loaded.

    • 6

Check the boxes next to the cheats you want to enable. Press the "Send Cheats to Plugin" button.

    • 7

Load the emulator and start your game. The cheats you selected will be enabled.
