How to Fix the Frame Rate on PlayStation Emulator

If you use ePSXe to emulate your PlayStation games, you may notice that some games run faster than they should. The speed of your game is determined by frame rate, the number of animation frames that occur per second. Although you can have the emulator auto-detect frame rate, sometimes the emulator will still run too fast, making it difficult to play games because you can't keep up with the animation.

Instructions

    • 1

      Open ePSXe and click "Config."

    • 2

      Click "Video," then click "Configure."

    • 3

Click the radio button next to "Use FPS Limit."

    • 4

Click "FPS Limit." Enter "60" as the value; NTSC format, the standard used in North America, runs at a maximum of 60 frames per second.

    • 5

Click "OK," then start your game. You cannot alter configuration settings while a game is in progress.
