Things You'll Need
Instructions
Open the controller's outer casing by removing the exterior screws with a screwdriver. Carefully place the screws in a safe location. Use extra caution as these screws are extremely small and easily lost.
Inspect the interior of the controller for a detached spring. The L2 button uses a spring to create pressure. Sometimes this spring falls off into the controller when the L2 button falls off. The spring has a coil in the middle with straight edges on both sides.
Slide the coiled part of the spring back onto the bottom of the L2 button.
Place the L2 button back into position and close the outer casing. This may require shifting the controller battery since the components inside the controller fit tightly. Any shifting caused when opening the controller may prevent the casing from closing properly. Continue shifting until the casing closes.
Screw in the screws to close the controller.
Turn on the video game system and play a game to test the L2 button. Turn off the system and reopen if you continue to have problems. A loose piece or improperly placed spring may prevent the L2 button from functioning properly.
