How to Hook Up PS1 to HDTV

HDTVs include a multitude of AV inputs to connect all of your external devices. These inputs include HDMI, component, VGA, DVI, composite and S-Video. While the original PlayStation, or PS1, is an older console, it includes an AV cable that uses yellow, red and white composite connectors to connect to your television. If these cables did not come with your PS1, they can be purchased separately or you can use the composite AV cables from a PS2.

     Connect the AV cable to the AV port on the back of the PS1.

     Connect the yellow, red and white composite connectors to the corresponding composite input ports on your TV.

     Turn on your TV and set it to the composite video input channel.
