Playable Characters
Playable characters are characters the user can control, and each has their own skill set and a distinctive personality. Zidane Tribal is the main character -- he keeps morale high and also has a fondness for Princess Garnet, the daughter of Queen Brahne. Vivi Ornitier is a nine-year-old Black Mage that wields powerful magic. Adelbert Steiner, who is Captain of the Knights of Pluto, is sworn to protect Princess Garnet with his life. Amarant Coral is a giant warrior that relies on brute strength and physical force to get what he wants. Freya Crescent is an old friend of Zidane, and she meets up with the others while searching for her lost love, Sir Fratley. Quina is a Blue Mage that is studying to become a chef, and Eiko is a summoner that can conjure powerful beasts in battle.
Antagonists
Kuja is the main villain of Final Fantasy IX -- a cruel, ruthless gunrunner that is obsessed with power. Garland is the leader of Terra and is responsible for the destruction of Madain Sari. Necron is the game's final boss and believes that there is no pain or sorrow in a world where nothing exists.
Major Characters
Zorn and Thorn are court jesters to Queen Brahne and obey her every whim. Beatrix is General of the Army of Alexandria, and is famous for her skill with a sword. Cid Fabool is the King of Lindblum and is a technology expert, specifically with airships.
Minor Characters
Artemicion is the owner of the mail delivery system, but relies on Zidane and friends to deliver the mail for him. Puck is the prince of Burmecia, but prefers to stay in hiding -- disguised as a street urchin. Sir Fratley is a Dragon Knight that has no memory of his past and is the lost love of Freya.
