How to Hook a PS2 to a PS3

When you upgrade from the PlayStation 2 to the PlayStation 3 video game console, you may have a series of games that you have not completed playing on the PS2. Because the PS3 can play these games, you do not have to start the games over on the PS3. Instead you can transfer your saved game data from the PS2 to the PS3 using a memory card adapter. Do not attempt to physically connect the PS2 and PS3 together using a USB cable, as the transfer must be done using the adapter.

Name the new internal memory card that will be stored on the PS3 hard drive. It will contain the saved games from the memory card you have connected. For example, enter "Saved PS2 Games." Select "OK."

Select "Game" and "Memory Card Utility" from the main menu to access the games you copied from the PS2. Insert the corresponding game disc to start the game where you left off.
