How to Get a CD Out of a PS3 Slim

PlayStation 3 Slim ("PS3 Slim") is a video game system manufactured by Sony. The console allows you to play compatible games on the device. Periodically, your device may malfunction and prevent you from ejecting a game disc with the "Eject" button. Fortunately, the console has a manual eject feature, which allows you to insert a screwdriver and remove the disc. Make sure to unplug the console from the wall jack before ejecting the disc using this method.

Things You'll Need

Small Phillips screwdriver (Minimum 1 inch in length)

Instructions

  Power off your PS3 Slim and unplug the power cable from the console.

  Turn over the console. Remove the screw cover, located on the left-side of the console. (You will see a screw when you remove the cover. You will not turn this screw.)

  Place the screwdriver in the eject hole, located next to the visible screw. Do not unscrew the visible screw.

  Turn the screwdriver counterclockwise until the disc is ejected. Gently pull the disc from the slot when enough has been ejected from the console.
