How to Make a Master Account

Creating a master account for the PlayStation Network is important. Gain the ability to access online features such as playing games with others via the Internet, watching movies and downloading from the PlayStation Store. There are two types of accounts on the PSN, a master and subs. You can use sub accounts for friends to sign in when visiting.

Instructions

  Turn on your PlayStation and scroll to the PlayStation Network icon. Move the arrow down to select "Sign up for PlayStation Network."

  Press the "X" button on your controller to select "Create a New Account (New Users)."

  Fill out your country, language and birthday in the provided spots and click "Continue." Read the "Terms of Service" on the next pop-up box and click "Accept."

  Enter an e-mail and select "Enter." A box will pop up, Select "OK" to confirm that your e-mail is correct and valid. Enter your password twice in the provided spaces and check the box if you would like to have your password. Select a security question and answer, then click "Continue."

  Fill in the box on the next page to create a UserID for the PlayStation Network, then click "Continue." Enter your first and last name, as well as your gender (optional) on the next page and click "Continue" once more. Fill in your home address with the city and state and select "Continue." Click "Confirm" on the next page to verify that all your information is correct. Click "OK" when the window that says "Congratulations! You have successfully created your account." Select an avatar on the next window, then click "Confirm."
