How to Get a Bow for an Archer in Final Fantasy Tactics

Final Fantasy Tactics is a strategy role-playing game originally released for the Sony PlayStation and remade for the Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP). Players choose job classes for their combatants. One of the earliest classes available is the archer. To unlock the archer class, a combatant must be a level two squire -- the starting job class for most combatants. One trouble with an archer is that the bows are not sold at every shop.

  Decide whether you want to use your archer sans-bow or to change your would-be archer to a different job class until you find a bow. If you keep your archer as-is, you earn job-points towards archer skills, but until the archer finds a bow he is limited to melee attacks.

  Complete battles to earn money. The game uses both story battles and random battles and awards you with gil after winning.

  Visit a town or castle that sells bows and crossbows. In the first chapter of the game, only Igros Castle sells bows. Later, you can buy bows and crossbows from Lionel Castle, Lesalia Imperial Capitol, Riovanes Castle, Zeltennia Castle and Limberry Castle. Goug Machine City sells only crossbows.

  Enter the shop of your choice and scroll through the menu until you find a bow or a crossbow. Press the enter button to select the item and to select the quantity. Press "Yes" to complete the purchase.
  
  Initially, only four ranged weapons are available at Igors Castle: the Bow Gun (400 gil), the Night Killer (1500 gil), the long bow (800 gil) and the silver bow (1500 gil). As you progress, stronger bows and crossbows become available.

  Enter the "Formation" window and select your archer. Press "Equip" and select "Weapon." Find the desired bow or crossbow and press the enter button to equip your archer with that weapon.
