How to Gain LP in BeyBlade for the PS1

"Beyblade: Let it Rip!" is a battle-simulation game for the PlayStation 1 in which players participate in Beyblade tournaments by creating their own Beyblades (user-created destructive spinning tops) and using them in one-on-one battles against opponents' Beyblades. During battle you can build up a stat known as "Legend Power," and with enough legend power (LP), your Beyblade can perform more powerful attacks. Earning LP during battle is a simple process.

  Launch your Beyblade at your opponent's Beyblade when the battle begins by pressing the "X" button. The Beyblades will meet in the middle of the arena and begin dealing damage to each other.

  Tap the "X" button rapidly as the two blades collide. Doing so will earn an amount of LP. Only tap the "X" button while the beyblades are clashing. The faster you tap the button, the more LP will accumulate.

  Use LP by launching your Beyblade with the "Square" button, rather than the "X" button. This will cause your Beyblade to perform a special attack. Depending on the amount of LP you have, the attack will be different. For example, if you have 20 LP, you will perform a special bit beast launch move. However, if you have 25 LP, you can summon the bit beast itself into the battle.
