How to Find Yuffie After She Steals Your Materia

Before your first visit to the city of Wutai in "Final Fantasy VII," the mysterious character Yuffie will steal your hard-earned materia. The lack of spells and summons will leave the rest of the characters nearly powerless, so you'll need to locate Yuffie to get your abilities back. To find Yuffie and reclaim the materia, you'll have to follow her into Wutai. She will lead you on a chase throughout the town, culminating in a difficult boss battle with Rapps. After the fight, Yuffie will finally return your materia.

Instructions

  Cross the two bridges and go into the valley. Head across the next bridge, and then continue north until you reach Wutai. Enter the town when you arrive. You will immediately see Yuffie.

  Follow Yuffie over the two small bridges. Enter the pub and speak with the Turks, and then return outside. Exit to the northwest and into a new area of the town. Enter the house on the right and speak with Yuffie's father in the nearby room. Avoid chasing Yuffie when she appears, but instead return to the first area of Wutai. Go into the house next to the save point.

  Open the chest to receive the MP Absorb materia. Yuffie will appear and steal it from you. Exit and head to the house near the town entrance. Enter and speak with all the people inside. Check the screen at the left, and then follow Yuffie outside. Return to the pub and inspect the wiggling pot, causing Yuffie to emerge. Follow her back to her house.

  Flip either of the levers in Yuffie's house, and she will escape again. Free the rest of your party members, and then head outside to the pagoda. Inspect the large bell on the left. Ring the bell to reveal a door, and then head inside. Open the chests for a Swift Bolt and an Elixir, and then exit the room.

  Defeat the Attack Squad, return outside and speak with Reno. Go to the save point and add Barret to the party. Head north to the Da-Chao statues, following Reno and Rude. Go north at the intersection and around the statue head to the next screen. Speak with Rude, and then enter the cave. Grab the Dragoon Lance from the chest and go back outside. Set Barret's Limit Break to level 1, and then spend some time filling the party's Limit Break meters. When you're ready, go south for the boss battle with Rapps.

  Begin the battle by hitting Rapps with Barret's Mindblow Limit Break. This will deplete Rapps's magic, cutting down his offensive capabilities. Keep the party standing with Hi-Potions and X-Potions as you attack. Deal extra damage to Rapps by using offensive items like Right Arms, S-Mines and Dragon Scales. After the battle, Yuffie will return your materia.
