How to Beat PaRappa the Rapper

PaRappa the Rapper is a music video game released for the Sony PlayStation in 1997. In the game, you follow Parappa, a rapping and dancing dog, on a quest to earn the love of Sunny Funny, a sunflower. Control PaRappa through a series of singing, rapping and dancing situations until he's finally able to win Sunny Funny's heart. The game controls involve timing and concentration -- hit the corresponding buttons on your controller that scroll across the top of the screen. Good timing allows PaRappa to move on to other levels.

Instructions

  Watch the top of the screen during all levels. A small icon will run across the screen and run into the buttons you need to press. When this icon appears, it's time for you to start pressing the correct buttons.

  Press the corresponding buttons on your PlayStation controller as the scrolling icon passes by the button commands. For example, in Level 1, the icon scrolls by the triangle button first. As soon as the icon moves over the triangle icon, press the triangle button. Maintain a "Good" rating to continue on.

  Continue through each level while pressing the corresponding buttons at the correct time. If you fail to keep pace, restart the level. Each subsequent level is more difficult than the previous one and each level gets more difficult as the level progresses.

  Complete the last level, the bathroom level, and return to the beginning of the game. Once you complete the game, you can earn a "Cool" rating on each level, which is harder than the "Good" rating. Finish each level with a "Cool" rating to unlock Level 6. Complete Level 6 to beat the entire game.
