How to Defeat the Boss in Level 18 of the Ghost Ship of MediEvil

The boss of the "Ghost Ship" level in "Medievil" is the ship's own captain. The Captain has remarkably low health for a boss with a measly 400 HP, but there is a catch to defeating him. Unlike other bosses, he cannot be hit with a normal weapon. You must use a pair of nearby cannons to shoot him repeatedly until he expires. This can be difficult because the captain never stays still, and his gang of skeleton pirates will harass you as you try to kill him.

  Open the chest in the top-right corner of the screen and take a club. Switch weapons for whatever you might be carrying to the club when you reach the Captain.

  Pass the club through the fire in the middle of the stage to light it up like a torch.

  Move to the back of one of the two cannons, then touch the fiery club to the cannon to fire at the Captain. The Captain walks back and forth in a set pattern and will not just stop in front of the cannon. The best times to fire are just as he's beginning his turn to start walking back to the left, and just before he executes his turn back to the right.

  Fire at the Captain as often as possible. Occasionally, he will summon a squad of skeleton pirates to attack you. These skeletons are not especially difficult to defeat if you concentrate on them when they appear. Fighting the skeletons may put out the fire on your club if you take too long. If this happens, re-ignite the club and continue firing at the captain until he is defeated.
