How to Slow the Arrows on Dance Dance Revolution

"Dance Dance Revolution" is a dance-simulation game released for practically every console since the original PlayStation. Since its release, there have been various spin-offs and sequels made. One of the more common complaints about "Dance Dance Revolution" is that the arrows move too fast. One way to slow down the arrows if playing on a console is to go into "Training Mode." You can slow down the tempo of the song, which in turn will slow down the arrows themselves. If playing on an arcade version of "Dance Dance Revolution," you can slow down the arrows by using the hidden options menu.

General Instructions

  Press "Start" at the main title screen to begin the game.

  Select "Training Mode" from the main menu.

  Select your song and difficulty.

  Press "Start" during the song and select "Options." Select the speed of the song. The slower you go, the slower the arrows will move. Press "Start" again to confirm.
Hidden Options Menu

  Place the selection cursor over the song you want to play.

  Hold the "Start" button as you select the song. This will bring up the hidden options menu.

  Choose your arrow speed with the left or right buttons and press "Start." To slow down the arrows, select "0.5x." This will decrease the arrow speed by half. Note that this does not slow the song itself, merely the speed at which the arrows fly up the screen.
