Read Opponent's Cards
When facing off an opponent who has a face-down card, there is an easy way to tell if it is a magic or a trap card. Look at the card's hue. If it is dark, then it is a magic card. If it remains the way it was before, then it is a trap card. This only applies to one-player mode.
Unlock Rare Cards
You will need the maximum number of star bits, but there are passwords you can use to unlock the rarer cards. For example, at the password screen, press 89631139 to get the blue-eyes white dragon, a creature with unsurpassed attack and defense. You can one-up the blue-eyes white dragon with the ultimate dragon by pressing 23995346.
Duplicate Cards
There is an easy way to trade cards from one file to another. Take two memory cards and start a new game on each one. Take the one that you aren't going to use and trade all the cards from that game onto the one that you will use. Delete the save file on the second memory card, and continue to transfer cards over until you have the ones you want.
Build a Strong Deck
Make sure you have five magic cards and five trap cards so that you can fuse them with whatever monster you are using. Early on, you will want to hang on to all 40 cards you can carry, but once you get more powerful monsters, you can get rid of them and stock up on magic and trap cards to fuse with your powerful monster cards.
