Cool Boarders 1 Tricks

"Cool Boarders" is a snowboarding video game released exclusively for the original Sony PlayStation console in late 1996. The game gives you three snowboard racing courses to compete against friends or computer characters. You have the option of racing purely for speed or adding tricks into the equation. "Cool Boarders" lets you unlock new abilities and extras by using button combinations and performing well.
  1. Tail Grab

    • The tail grab is a move you can perform that makes your snowboarder grab the back end of the board and pull it up. Hit the "R1" button on the top of the PlayStation controller to perform a tail grab.

    Flips

    • You can get your snowboarder to do a front flip by pressing up on the directional pad and then hitting "circle." Do a back flip by pressing down and then hitting "circle."

    Misty

    • A misty is a spin move where your boarder grabs the board and rotates in a circle. Do a misty by hitting "X" to jump, hitting anywhere between any two directional keys, and pressing "square" after releasing the "X" button. You start your spin from a different position depending where you hit on the directional pad.

    Nose Grab

    • The nose grab is the opposite of the tail grab, as your boarder will grab the front of the snowboard and pull up to gain trick points. Nose grabs are accomplished by pressing the "R2" button on the back of the controller.

    Extra Moves

    • You can gain extra points by pressing buttons to create movement during other tricks. While in the air, hit the directional buttons to move around and get more points. Slide by hitting the "triangle" button while heading downhill. Hit "triangle" and then down on the directional pad to come out of a slide by landing on your hands and then flipping back to your feet.

    New Course and Abilities

    • "Cool Boarders" features a secret track you can run after you have achieved the best time, highest point value trick and most total trick points on all of the other courses. Press the "Select" button 40 times after going into Options from Menu to hear a new broadcast announcer. You can do more than one grab in the air by pressing any of the directional pad buttons while you press any of the "L" and "R" back buttons.
