How to Copy PS1 Games From CD-ROM to Computer Then to PSP

The Sony PSP is a hand-held, portable video game console that offers storage and online game play. The PS1 is a first-generation gaming console released by Sony in 1994. The PSP can play the PS1 games, but they must be converted to ISO files. If you wish to play the older PS1 games on the PSP, this can be accomplished in a few simple steps.

      Place the PS1 game into the computer CD/DVD drive. Download and install one of the ISO-creating software applications onto the computer, such as Nero or MagicISO (See Resources). Follow all the prompts to complete the installation. Reboot the computer if needed.

      Launch the ISO software application and select the option to "Create Image File From Disc." Select the "Destination" tab and designate a location to save the ISO file. Click the option to create the ISO file.

      Click the "Disc Backup" option. Click the "Image Recorder" option as the destination drive, and click "Browse" to find a place to save the ISO file. A new window will appear. Select a place to store the ISO file. Click the "Burn" option button to create the ISO.

      Attach the PSP to the computer using a USB cable. Choose "USB Connection" from the PSP main menu. Go to where the PSP game file was created and right-click its folder.

      Click the ISO file you saved and click the "Copy" option. Locate the "Games" folder on the PSP main menu and right-click it. Select the "Paste" option to transfer the PS1 games to the PSP. Disconnect the PSP from the computer.
