How to Use Mega Man X4 & Nova Strike

Mega Man X4 is a continuation of the "X" series, allowing gamers to play as either Mega Man or Zero on a quest to defeat the Reploids. As in previous "X" games, players can obtain upgrades and power-ups to defeat opponents more easily. In Mega Man X4, it is possible to get very powerful abilities, such as Mega Man's "Nova Strike," by entering a code in the character selection screen and reaching a special location.

  At the character select screen, press the circle button twice, the left arrow pad six times, and then hold down both "L1" and "R2" while pressing "Start." You must continue holding "L1" and "R2" until the game begins. This unlocks a special armor for Mega Man, which is necessary to get "Nova Strike."

  Play through the first two stages, and then enter the "Jungle" stage.

  Continue through the stage until you reach the second waterfall. Slide halfway down the waterfall on the right side until you are able to continue moving right.

  Follow this secret path until you see a capsule. Enter it to enable Mega Man's powerful "Nova Strike," which you will retain for the duration of the game.
