Select a racing ability for your racer. In the "Select Ability" screen, choose one of the nine listed power ups to assist your race against Squall. Using the directional pad, highlight your desired ability and then press "X." After selecting an ability, the game will automatically bring you into the race.
Race against Squall and four other racers. Your character and the other racers will be arranged in a stationary position behind a checkered line. When the screen displays "GO," press and hold the "Square" button to accelerate and begin the race.
Gain first place in the race in seconds by quickly maneuver past the other characters at the start of the race. Squall utilizes a Gunblade ability to attack you during the race, which will render you motionless. Obtaining first place disables the Squall's Gunblade attack. Maintain first place by observing the direction of the arrows pointed on the sides of the wall. Turn according to their direction to stay off the wall, thus remaining at optimum speed.
Press "L1" intermittently to release your special ability. Also press "R1" to cast magic and protect yourself from the other riders
Complete all three laps of the race and finish in first place. Finish the race in first place to defeat Squall.
