How to Create PS1 Games

PlayStation 1 is one of the best-selling video game consoles in history. Released in December 1994 in Japan and September 1995 in the United States, the PS1 was one of the first three-dimensional gaming consoles on the market. Gamers create PS1 games for various reasons, such as backing up an old PS1 game to play in a PlayStation or creating a PS1 game to play in a PS1 emulator available online for free download.

Instructions

  1. Magic ISO

    • 1

Download Magic ISO (see Resources), and complete installation. You are going to create an ISO file. The ISO is a duplicate copy of a disc image.

    • 2

Double-click "Magic ISO" icon on your Desktop.

    • 3

Insert a PS1 game into your CD-ROM drive and then close the tray.

    • 4

Click the "CD" icon on the toolbar to display the "Make ISO from CD-ROM" window.

    • 5

Click "Choose your CD-ROM" to select your CD-ROM drive.

    • 6

Click "folder" button in "Output File" to save the PS1 ISO in a folder on your hard drive.

    • 7

Click "Make CD Image" in "Option."

    • 8

Click "OK" to create a PS1 game.

    Power ISO

    • 9

      Download Power ISO (see Resources).

    • 10

      Install and launch Power ISO.

    • 11

Click the "Copy" button on Power ISO toolbar. The "ISO Maker" dialog box will appear.

    • 12

Click the drop-down list in "Source Drive" to select the drive holding the PS1 game.

    • 13

Click "ISO file" as your output file.

    • 14

Click the "three dots" button to save the PS1 ISO.

    • 15

Click "OK" to create the PS1 game.

    Daemon Tools

    • 16

      Download Daemon Tools (see Resources).

    • 17

      Install Daemon Tools.

    • 18

Click the arrow on your taskbar to access the system tray and then right-click the icon that resembles a blue and white lightning bolt.

    • 19

Click "Disc Imaging" and then select your CD-ROM drive in "Device."

    • 20

Click the "Reading speed" drop-down list to select a reading speed. The higher reading speed, the faster your PS1 ISO will finish.

    • 21

Click the "three dots" in "Destination image file." A "Save As" window will display on your screen.

    • 22

Type a file name for the PS1 game in "File name" field.

    • 23

Click "Save as Type" drop-down list and then select "ISO" and then click "Save" to create PS1 games. A "Disc Imaging Process" window appears to show the progress of the ISO file.
