How to Apply Save Files on Chrono Cross (PSX)

"Chrono Cross" for the Sony PlayStation (also referred to as the PSX) is the sequel to the Square classic "Chrono Trigger," which originally appeared on the Super Nintendo console. Because "Chrono Cross" can easily take over 30 hours to complete in full, periodically you are given the opportunity to save your game so that you can turn the console off and pick the game up later in the exact same position.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert your PlayStation memory card into the memory card input on the front of your console (if you haven't already).

    • 2

Stand next to a "Save point" in "Chrono Cross." Save points only appear periodically in locations throughout the game; they are white in color and are shaped like giant crystals. Save points are the only points at which you can save your game progress in "Chrono Cross."

    • 3

Press "X" to bring up the "Game Save" menu.

    • 4

Select a slot on screen where you would like to save your game. You can save over an existing save game, replacing the old information with new information, or create a new save point.

    • 5

Press "X." "Chrono Cross" will now save your game progress, and you can either shut the game off or continue to play should you so choose.
