How to Get the Mayor's Key in Final Fantasy 9

"Final Fantasy 9" returns to the fantasy roots of the series and features several optional side missions and mini-games. One of the side missions is "Mr. Morrid's Coffee," in which you're asked to locate three types of coffee. One of these types is hidden in a windmill and can only be accessed by getting the Mayor's Key. You'll have to get it while the Mayor is away and you'll have to move carefully to avoid waking up the sleeping boy in his house.

Instructions

- 1
  Enter the Treno card tournament, but do not finish the tournament. Leave after your first match. Go to the village of Dali.

  Enter the Mayor's house. This is the only time you'll be able to get his key, as he is participating in the card tournament. Move slowly in his house, as there is a boy sleeping on the couch and he'll kick you out if you wake him up. Search his desk to find a "Mini-Brahne."
- 3
  Search his desk a few more times. This will lull the boy into a deeper sleep, and you can stop searching the desk once you see "zzzz" coming from his position. Slowly move to the stove in his house and search it to find the Mayor's Key. Leave the house before you're discovered.
