How to Change Your PlayStation Network Email & Password

You may want to change your PlayStation Network account sign-in information if the account has been compromised, or if you've recently changed email addresses. The email address and password are easy to change, but you can't do it all at the same time. You have to change one and then the other. However, the process only takes a few minutes to complete.

Current PlayStation Network sign-in email address and password

  Go to the "XMB" on your PlayStation console and select "PlayStation Network."

  Enter your current email address and password to log into your PlayStation Network account.

  Go to "PlayStation Network," scroll down to "Account Management," and select it by pressing the "X" button.

  Select "Account Information" and press the "X" button.

  Select "Sign-In ID (Email Address)" and press "X."

  Enter your current password when prompted to do so and you'll be prompted to enter your new email address.

  Enter the email address in the provided space and double-check it for accuracy. You don't want to experience difficulty logging into your PlayStation Network account because of a minor misspelling.

  Confirm the change and a confirmation email will be sent to the email address. Go to the email address on the Web and confirm it through the email that was sent.

  Sign out of your PlayStation Network account.

  Return to PlayStation Network and press "X" on "Sign In."

  Enter your new email address and then press "X" on "Forgot your password?"

  Confirm that the email address you entered is correct and then submit your birthdate. Press "X" on "Continue."

  Press "X" on "Reset Using Security Question" and enter the correct answer to the question. Now you will be allowed to change the password.

  Enter the new password to finish the procedure.
