How to Get the Body Armor on Metal Gear Solid

"Metal Gear Solid," a game mixing stealth, espionage and action, was released for the PlayStation in 1998. Players assume the role of Solid Snake as he tries to stop a terrorist group using a mix of stealth and combat. Ideally, players will not want to engage the enemy head on, as Solid Snake will perish quickly by gunfire. However, by finding the "Body Armor" item, he will be able to withstand much more damage. You can obtain the "Body Armor" at the start of disc 2.

Instructions

  Enter the "Blast Furnace." Walk to the left and then south through the opening in the wall.

  Navigate the pipe-filled room, being careful to avoid the steam from the pipes. Crawl under the pipes found at the end of the room.

  Throw a chaff grenade to disable the two sentry turrets found on the walls.

  Walk on top of the brown box floating in the center of the room. The "Body Armor" will now be placed in your inventory.

  Equip yourself with the "Body Armor." Hold "L2" on your controller and press up on the directional pad until the Body Armor is highlighted. Release the "L2" button and your character will now be wearing the "Body Armor."
