PS1 Shooting Games

Multiple shooting video games were created for the PS1, the informal name for the PlayStation, Sony's first video gaming console. The shooting games available for the first PlayStation system challenge players to use an array of different guns to take down enemies. While some offer single-player quests broken down into multiple missions, others also feature multiplayer modes so that players can test their shooting skills against one another.

The single-player mode of the game challenges players to find their way through multiple levels, shooting enemies who stand in the way. To help players feel comfortable, "Disruptor" offers multiple difficulty settings get progressively harder.

007: The World Is Not Enough

    • Electronic Arts released the espionage and shooting game "007: The World is Not Enough," developed by Black Ops Entertainment for the PlayStation, in November 2000. "The World is Not Enough," a title rated acceptable for players 13 and over, is based on a James Bond movie of the same name, and it is divided into a series of missions with objectives. Many action sequences from the movie are reenacted in videos throughout the game.

    Duke Nukem: Total Meltdown

    • GT Interactive released the first-person shooting game "Duke Nukem: Total Meltdown" for the PlayStation in September 1997. "Total Meltdown" was made by Aardvark, and it is rated appropriate for mature gamers only. The title character, Duke Nukem, finds his way through several areas eliminating bad guys and monsters with different guns.
