"Castlevania: Symphony of the Night"
Konami released the action game "Castlevania: Symphony of the Night" for the PlayStation One console in October of 1997. The main character in "Symphony of the Night" is a son of Dracula who must explore the famous vampire's castle to find a missing person. Players are given multiple weapons to choose from when fending off the game's many monsters and enemies. The more monsters that a player kills, the higher his various levels increase, and players can find their way through Dracula's castle using a map they are given.
"Ape Escape"
SCEA and SCEI released "Ape Escape" for the first PlayStation console in May of 1999. Players are sent to different times and levels to capture monkeys who have gone back in time to try and take over the world. In order to beat a level, the main character Spike must find a predetermined amount of monkeys. Players are given special items such as nets and clubs to help them obtain the amount of monkeys they need.
"Street Fighter Alpha 3"
Capcom released the fighting game "Street Fighter Alpha 3" for the PlayStation One in April of 1999. In "Street Fighter Alpha 3," players can choose between different fictional fighters that each have special moves to use on one another. A single player campaign in the game allows players to experience a different story depending on which character they decide to use. Players can also try World Tour mode and attempt to accumulate as many points as possible.
"Vagrant Story"
Square EA and Square Soft released "Vagrant Story" for the original PlayStation system in May of 2000. Players are challenged to get to the bottom of a conflict between two warring factions in "Vagrant Story". The main character, Ashley Riot, must determine what side of the battle he is on and what an evil leader he met is attempting to accomplish. Players must solve puzzles and emerge triumphant in battles in order to beat "Vagrant Story".
