How Do I Get Out of the North Crator in FF7?

Final Fantasy 7 was originally released for the Sony PlayStation; it is a role-playing game in which players choose a group of three characters in an effort to save the planet from an evil menace known as Sephiroth. The North Crater, also called the Northern Cave, is one of the final areas before the last boss fights. The area contains several items and power-ups. If you choose, you can fight your way through the crater and return to the airship through a secret exit to buy more supplies as necessary.

Instructions

  Position the Highwind airship over the North Crater and descend into the cave. Enter the crater by moving down the rope ladder. Remember what this room looks like; you must return here to exit the cave.

  Use the "Select" button to locate the exits for each area. The areas are relatively linear, but the graphics sometimes make them hard to see. Press "Select" to see red arrows (indicating which direction you came from) and green arrows (indicating new exit points).

  Collect the items from the treasure chests in each area and continue until you are prompted to split your party into two groups. You can take the right or the left path; the paths are circular, and at the end of each route there is a cave leading back to the original fork in the road.

  Retrace your steps to the first room, where you entered the North Crater. Look for a rock shaped like a ladder and climb up. Note that the "Select" button will not help you locate this exit. Climb this ladder to exit the North Crater.
