How to Convert AVI to PS3

The Playstation console has the ability to play movies, game trailers and video clips. The Playstation supports a variety of different video formats, but doesn't allow you the option to alter or change the playback quality or size of the video. While you are able to play AVI files on the PS3, you can change the size and edit the video file if you convert it to Playstation format. The conversion is simple and only takes a small amount of time.

  Download the AVI to PS3 converter and save it to the desktop. Open the file and install it on your computer.

  Create two different folders on your computer; it might be easiest to place these folders on the desktop to keep track of them. In one folder, place the AVI files you wish to change. The other folder will house the converted video files.

  Open up the AVI to PS3 converter program. Click "Add Files" and add the AVI video files you wish to convert.

  Select a PS3-supported video output file. This is done by clicking the bar for "Output Format" near the bottom of the program. The drop bar then opens and gives you the ability to choose different video formats. PS3-supported formats are designated by the PS3 name in front of them.

  Select the output folder you created. Click "Browse," then click the file you created on your desktop.

  Click the "Convert" button to finish the process and convert the videos.
