How to Delete a Memory Card on PlayStation 1

The PlayStation is a video game console created by Sony with games that run on CDs. Similar to the PlayStation 2, the system saves data using external memory cards that plug into the console. PlayStation memory cards have a small amount of storage space, making it easy to fill them up. If your memory card is full, you need to delete some or all of the data blocks to make room for new saves.

     Plug your memory card into the slot above the first controller port on the PlayStation.

     Take any games or audio CDs out of the PlayStation.

     Turn on the console.

     Select "Memory Card."

   • 5

     Select "Delete," then browse the data blocks using the directional pad and select any block to delete the data. Confirm when prompted.
