Things You'll Need
Instructions
Determine the number of inputs your television has available. If there is more than one input option, skip to Step 6.
Install your A/V receiver near the television and plug it into a power source. Once it̵7;s powered on, refer to the owner̵7;s manual for the receiver to determine which inputs it has and how to control those input modes and transfer them to the monitor output.
Connect your PlayStation to the A/V receiver through the appropriate input. The PlayStation comes with its own special connection cord, featuring a flat style plug on the PlayStation end and a standard RCA connection at the other (denoted by red, white and yellow tips). Plug the flat connector into the PlayStation and the RCA style connectors into the corresponding inputs on the receiver. Most A/V receivers will have a video input that can be used for game systems, and some higher end models even have game inputs specifically for the PlayStation or other game system.
Connect your satellite system to the receiver. You̵7;ll need to refer to the owner̵7;s manual specific to your satellite system for proper connection procedures, as they vary depending on the make and model. Most A/V receivers will have a cable/satellite input for this purpose.
Connect the receiver̵7;s monitor output to the television̵7;s input. Depending on the age of your television, you may have to purchase an adapter to convert the receiver̵7;s output cable type to the television̵7;s input type.
Connect the PlayStation̵7;s output to one of the television̵7;s RCA style inputs if your television is so equipped. Refer to your television̵7;s specific owner̵7;s manual for information on how to switch input modes between the satellite and PlayStation.
Turn on the television and set the system to the desired input.
