Transferring PS1 and PS2 and Saving Games to Playstation 3
Connect the USB cable to the PlayStation 3 controller, then insert the five-pin end of the cable to the connector at the back of the memory card adapter.
Insert the memory card with the saved PlayStation 1 or PlayStation 2 game files into the slot on the front of the adapter. Turn on PS3. The XMediaBar will pop up.
Scroll to the "Games" section on the XMediaBar. There should now be a "Memory Card Utility" icon. Enter this utility and the memory card will appear, along with information on what system it's for and how much space is available.
Scroll down to the icon for the "New Internal Memory Card." Click on this icon, and create an Internal PS1 Card or an Internal PS2 Card. Choose the proper format, and enter a name for the virtual memory card.
Go back on the XMediaBar and click on the icon for the memory card you inserted into the adapter. You'll see the list of saved game files.
Press the PS3 controller's triangle button on individual files for options: copy, delete and information. Choose the copy option, then select the internal memory card. Copy the files, and you'll be ready to launch the old game and pick up where you left off.
