Put the Sony PSP memory card in the card reader on your desktop or laptop. It appears on your computer's desktop as a drive icon. Double click on this icon and delete or move all the files off the card. The card must be completely clean if you want to utilize the most storage space possible.
Find and double-click on the WinZip icon to start the WinZip program. Click on the "New" button to create a new WinZip archive to store the data. Make sure to specify a file location for the archive that can be easily found, like your desktop. When WinZip is done creating the archive minimize your workspace by clicking on the minimize button.
Double-click on the newly created archive file. WinZip will open the archive folder. Put all the data files that you want to carry on the PSP memory card into the archive folder. Doing it all at once will minimize the amount of work you have to do by compressing it in one go.
Hold down Shift while selecting all of the data files or folders that you put in the archive folder. Click on the "Compress" button in the top menu. A pop-up menu will appear and ask you for the compression level. Select the highest level of compression that it will allow and then click "Compress." The process may take several hours for the more complex data files.
Click and drag the archive file to the PSP memory card drive when the compression routine is done. The data move may take several minutes. Eject the memory card by pulling it from the card reader.
