How to Import .Avi Movies to a PSP

Sony's PSP handheld gaming system is ideal to watch movies on. It has a high resolution TFT widescreen (measuring 480 x 272 pixels), has expandable storage space using Memory Stick flash memory cards, and can support a wide range of media formats, including AVI and MP4 files. Transferring your movies to your PSP console is an easy task, but the time it takes depends on the size of the movie you are transferring.

Instructions

  Connect your PSP to your computer using a USB cable. Navigate to "USB Connection" in the "Settings" section of the PSP home screen.

  Create a folder called "VIDEO" in the "PSP" folder on your memory stick if you do not already have one. It is important to use upper-case letters; otherwise your PSP might not recognize the folder at all.

  Drag and drop your AVI video file into the "VIDEO" folder on your memory stick, and wait for it to copy across. The length of this process varies depending on the size of your AVI file.

  Navigate back to your PSP home screen once the AVI import is finished, and navigate to the "Videos" section of the home screen. In this folder you should find your AVI movie.
