Unplug the PlayStation Portable (PSP) headphones from the PSP's earphone jack. Place the PSP out of the way. Place the headphones on a work surface.
Pull the gray backing off the earbud that is on the same wire as the remote control module.The gray backing can be pulled off by twisting the white front and the gray back with your hands.
Heat the soldering iron for six minutes. Locate the black resistor that is up against the back of the speaker on the white front of the earbud. Touch the tip of the soldering iron to the pin that is on the left side of the resistor for 10 seconds. Repeat this procedure with the pin on the right side of the resistor. Pull the resistor out of the earbud with a tweezers and discard it in the trash. Unplug the soldering iron.

Solder or tape together with electrical tape the two wires that were separated from the resistor.
Apply bonding glue to the rim around the white front of the earbud. Place the gray back of the earbud on the white front. Twist the two to align them together. Hold them together for two minutes so that the glue can take hold. Release the earbud, and leave it alone for three hours before using the PSP headphones.
