How to Convert a Japanese PSP UMD System to a Euro System
The PlayStation Portable, also known as the PSP, is a hand-held video game system from Sony. Like most hand-held systems, the PSP is region-free when it comes to games. That means while PSPs are sold by region, the games can be played on any PSP in any region. PSP movies are not region-free however, so if you have a Universal Media Disk (UMD) of a movie from a different region, it won't play on your PSP. However, Japan and Europe are both Region 2, so the UMDs from Japan will work on a European PSP without any problems.
Instructions
1
Place the Japanese UMD into the European PSP system.
2
Turn on the European PSP.
3
Select "UMD" from the "Game" or "Movie" menu. Click "X." The UMD will load like a European UMD, be it movie or game.
