Things You'll Need
Instructions
Remove any game or movie discs from the PSP system. Carefully insert the compressed air can's nozzle tip into the PSP and, using only short bursts, clean out the visible areas, more specifically the laser lens reader and disc-turning mechanism.
Dampen a cotton swab with isopropyl alcohol and wipe the laser lens reader with small, circular motions. Remove any accumulated dust on the lens.
Attempt to determine the source of the PSP's malfunction by diagnosing the problems and using Sony's troubleshooting website (see Resources) for assistance. An example would be a bad bearings malfunction in the driver, which is evident by a loud clicking sound as you are trying to load a disc. Game or movie discs that play inconsistently might be slightly cracked or damaged. Understanding the source and cause of your problem will help you repair the issue yourself or give a professional repairman a specific diagnosis.
